Abstract: Within Canada, some 45,000 people suffer cardiac arrest and an estimated 70,000 heart attacks occur each year. Further, an estimated 500,000 more people live with heart failure. In partnership with students and faculty at George Brown College in Toronto, Ocorant Inc. is at work on a heart-monitoring vest that may make the Holter monitor, a diagnostic tool for heart disease, a historical relic.
